Dr.Read was very caring and friendly, but used 'old school' testing tools, which took me by surprise, and only repeated tests my optometrist had already done with 'state-of-the-art' technology. His findings were no different. I had been advised by his receptionist when she confirmed the app't there would be a field test and dilation that day, but that didn't happen. I am driving from Baddeck, so knowing I wouldn't be able to drive home afterwards, I booked a hotel and it was too late to cancel when found out. Costly and inconvenient to say the least. Now I have to go for a 2nd app't on Jan 11 and make similar plans. Also, his receptionist had forewarned me he often ran an hour or so late! After she did a brief history and registration, I was lucky to be able to schedule another app't in the same bldg (50 min)and still waited 5-10 minutes when I returned. I feel strongly my time is equally valuable; booking can be much more accurate. I'll keep this app't because I don't want to wait another 2 or 3 months to get another, but will seek another opthamologist after this is complete.
